This is the smug face of an author who just finished drafting her Book 2 😭 It's a messier draft than I normally produce so it's needing quite a bit of work, but it's FINISHED - and I'd take revision over drafting any day.

Who's in the mood for something dark and atmospheric? The Cloisters by @heykatyhays follows a young scholar who starts an internship at a gothic museum of medieval art, where she researches the history of divination. One 15th century Tarot deck later, she finds herself embroiled in a complicated web of secrets, toxic friendships, and betrayal. The Cloisters has everything I like: mystery, museums, gardens full of poisonous plants, medieval history, and a lot of twists. I absolutely loved it.

This photo was taken on the old 1980s Olympus and it looks it - but I quite like the effect.

More photos from Holyrood Park - this is apparently St Anthony's Chapel, which fell into disuse in the 16th century.

This is a photo of me from Holyrood Park from before we climbed the hill. The pictures from after climbing the hill aren't suitable for Insta because my hair is all over the place.

A wee day trip to Edinburgh for fish and chips 🐟🍟

It's been a while since I've posted a snippet, so here are the opening lines to FOUL DAYS 2.

First attempt at baking pretzels! They turned out surprisingly nice given they were made at midnight last night after a couple of glasses of wine 🥨

Heard that there were Highland cows in one of the local parks, so naturally, had to go and investigate 🐂

Looking suspiciously happy for someone who's spent hours outside at -7C, but at least my partner's portrait homework for his photography class is done!

It was so cold in Glasgow today, the river froze 🥶 At least it made for nice photos!
